UPDATE: One arrest during Kamloops RCMP action on North Shore

Kamloops RCMP's Targeted Enforcement Unit, along with the heavily armed Emergency Response team, made an arrest following an investigation on a residential street on the North Shore.

Heavily armed police officers descended on the Wood Street and Hilltop Avenue area around 10:15 a.m. today, May 12, according to an RCMP media release. 

RCMP did not say what was being investigating, but did say there was no danger to the public.

A man was taken into custody.

Police did not say why the suspect was arrested.
