Rain in the forecast this week in Okanagan

OKANAGAN - Mainly cloudy skies today will give way to some rain through mid-week in the Okanagan before clearing again in time for the weekend.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says a couple of minor disturbances will bring some rain to the valley tomorrow and Thursday, with amounts of less than 10 mm expected. A high pressure ridge is expected to return Friday.

Today, Nov. 13, residents can expect mainly cloudy skies with winds from the east at 30 gusting to 50 km/h through tonight with a high of 4 Celsius and a low of 0 C. There is a 30 per cent chance of rain showers or wet flurries overnight.

The Coquihalla connector could see up to seven centimetres of snow overnight and tomorrow morning as well.

The rain showers or wet snow flurries are expected to end late in the afternoon tomorrow followed by clearing skies. A daytime high of 3 C and a low of -1 C is expected overnight.

More rain is forecast on Thursday, lasting through the evening, with a high of 5 C and a low of 2 C.

Skies will clear to a mix of sun and cloud on Friday, with an expected high of 4 C and an overnight low of -2 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year are highs of 3 C and lows of -3 C.
