Purse stolen from vehicle recovered by Penticton police foot patrol

PENTICTON - A woman’s purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle in Penticton yesterday and police have suspect in custody in connection with the theft.

Penticton RCMP say the woman’s purse was taken while her unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Main Street yesterday, June 6.

A description of a suspect was provided to police who spotted the suspect while conducting foot patrols in the downtown core yesterday afternoon, according to an RCMP media release.

During the arrest, items from the woman’s purse were found in the man’s possession, police say.

Penticton RCMP continue to urge vehicle owners to take their valuables with them and lock their doors to prevent thefts from vehicles.
