Public encouraged to attend community policing forum

Penticton RCMP detachment Superintendent Ted De Jager addresses an audience of around 200 people at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre last July 13, 2017. Another community forum is planned for this week, April 11, 2018, at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

PENTICTON - The Penticton RCMP detachment is interested in hearing from the public regarding policing needs.

A community policing forum is scheduled to take place on April 11 from 7 to 9 p.m.  at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, with detachment commander Superintendent Ted De Jager in attendance.

“I would like to invite all residents of the regional district to a community policing forum to let us know what they want to see. What do we need to do collectively to promote safety and wellness in our communities?” he asks.

A short presentation on current issues and trends will be followed by a panel discussion of those trends. Questions submitted prior to the forum will then be answered.

The public is invited to submit questions for discussion prior to April 10 at: PolicingForum@rcmp-grc.gc.ca

An open mike will be provided following the panel discussion if time permits.

The meeting is open to all residents from Summerland to Princeton.
