Presents stolen at 50th b'day bash in Enderby

ENDERBY - A 50th birthday celebration in the North Okanagan ended in disappointment after the presents were stolen the night of the party.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release the gifts were stolen from a carport on the side of the property where the party was taking place.

The birthday presents are believed to have been stolen sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 4 from a property located at Kildonan Avenue in Enderby.

"It’s a very unfortunate set of circumstances as the gifts were set aside in a carport area to be taken home by the birthday recipient, however, an alleged thief thought the items were up for grabs," RCMP Const. Kelly Brett said in the release. "It wasn’t until the victim got home and went to retrieve the gifts from the bags, two days later, when she noticed they were missing."

The victim isn't concerned with the monetary value, but is very disheartened and shocked that someone would enter the carport and steal the presents while the birthday celebration was taking place.

The gifts taken included woman’s clothing, a dog leash, a S'well brand water bottle and a black and purple backpack containing hiking gear.

Anyone with any information about the incident can contact the North Okanagan RCMP at 250-546-3028. Or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
