UPDATE: Chance of freezing drizzle continues

Dense fog will persist through the middle of next week throughout the region.

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN — Dense fog is expected to persist and freezing drizzle could fall through tomorrow morning according to Environment Canada.

Forecasters warn much of Southern B.C. including the Okanagan Valley, Shuswap, Nicola, South Thompson and North Thompson regions could see icy rain following the thick fog and valley cloud which has been hanging over the region.

The extensive fog and valley cloud will persist today but it is expected the inversion will not be as strong Friday night and Saturday, which could allow some of the fog and valley cloud to thin out before strengthening again Sunday. It looks likely the fog will hold in place into the first half of the work week.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as warnings may be required or extended at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca.
