Police seize more than 500 cannabis plants from Merritt basement
RCMP in Merritt have unplugged an illegal basement cannabis grow operation.
Officers executed a search warrant at a property on Panorama Drive in rural Merritt on Oct. 5, according to an RCMP media release.
More than 500 cannabis plants and close to a 1,000 seedlings were seized.
A male suspect was taken into custody and later released.
RCMP said results of its investigation will be forwarded to the Federal Prosecution Service in support of charges in relation to the Cultivation of Cannabis in a dwelling house under the Cannabis Act.
