PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are seeking information from the public following a gas theft incident at a local winery last week.
The Thomas Ranch Vineyard near Okanagan Falls was victim of a break and enter after thieves accessed the property through a hole cut in a fence along Oliver Ranch Road, says RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth.
Thieves attempted to steal gas from the vineyard’s pumps, but weren't able to power them up.
They attempted to hook up a car batter to the pumps, but that also failed. However they did managed to siphon a large quantity of fuel without an operating pump.
A surveillance photo of the suspect vehicle was taken during the incident, which took place at 6:20 a.m. Jan. 29.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Cst. Phil Moses of the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
