Vancouver police officer charged following on-duty collision with pedestrian

VANCOUVER - A Vancouver police officer has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm in relation to a collision with a pedestrian more than a year ago.

The BC Prosecution Service says the officer was on duty at the time collision on Jan. 6, 2018.

It says Const. Andrew Peters was charged Friday in Vancouver provincial court.

The charge follows an investigation by British Columbia's police watchdog, the Independent Investigation Office.

The BC Prosecution Service says it cannot release further details as the matter is now before the court.
