RCMP are looking for witnesses to an incident of shots fired in Kamloops last night.

Police responded to a report of gunshots at around 5:15 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 1, in the area of Willow Street, according to an RCMP media release.

Officers on the scene reported damage to the residence that appeared to be from a firearm. Although the residence was occupied at the time, no one was injured.

Police later identified a suspect and converged on a residence in Dallas this morning, Oct. 2, and a male was safely taken into custody.

Based on the investigation so far, police believe that the residence was targeted.

Anyone who witnessed the events that occurred on Willow Street is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP to assist the ongoing investigation.
