VERNON - Police are on the lookout for two would-be thieves after a botched casino robbery in Vernon yesterday morning.

On Dec. 5 at around 4 a.m., police were informed about a break and enter that had occurred at the Lake City Casino on Anderson Way, according to a media release.

Video surveillance revealed how two male suspects smashed their way through the front door in order to enter the lobby. They tried to steal an ATM, causing significant damage, before they fled the scene with nothing to show for their criminal efforts.

RCMP say one suspect was seen wearing jeans, white runners, and a brown hooded sweatshirt, while the other wore black runners with white soles, dark coloured pants, a dark coloured puffy jacket, and a black ski mask.

They escaped in a green Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with a similarly coloured canopy. The canopy has a small sticker on the lower right side of the rear window.

Police are asking anyone with information on the suspects to contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
