KAMLOOPS - A distressed man was taken to a medical facility yesterday after getting his truck stuck in an embankment at the Brocklehurst Dog Park.
Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer says in a news release officers received a call from a distressed man in the Tranquille Road and Ord Road area at approximately 5 a.m. yesterday, April 15.
When the man was located by police, he drove his vehicle into the parking lot of the Brocklehurst dog park, where the vehicle got stuck over an embankment. The man appeared to be under some emotional distress, Laer says, and refused to exit his vehicle for a period of time which required some traffic to be re-routed in the area.
At approximately 7 a.m., after a conversation with a police negotiator, the man safely surrendered himself to police without incident and was taken to a local medical facility, Laer says.
