Police hunt for a Ford bags a Hummer

KELOWNA - Police recovered a stolen Hummer while searching for a Ford F350 that was swiped out of the parking lot at Orchard Park mall yesterday afternoon.

RCMP were told the Ford was taken from outside the Milestone's Restaurant at about 3:10 p.m. Oct. 21. The truck is a Harley-Davidson edition and was parked in the loading dock area of the restaurant, before it was driven away with the alarm ringing.

The truck headed north on Hwy 97 north. Police responded by flooding the area at ground level and sending out a helicopter. They lost track of the Ford, last seeing it heading toward Vernon.

Meanwhile, a black Hummer, reported stolen earlier in the day was found at the intersection of Keithley Road and Knorr Road. Police were able to get the driver to stop without hassle. 

In either case, a police pursuit wasn't initiated.

The stolen Ford F350 is described as:

- Harley Davidson edition

- Black with red flames on the side

- B.C. plate EP2947

The suspect is described as:

- Caucasian male

- About 30 years old

- 6' tall and 230 lbs

- Light blond hair
