A popular Penticton craft brewery is making a move north as it eyes new markets in Kelowna.

Lee Agur of Bad Tattoo Brewing at 169 Estabrook Avenue in Penticton says the brewery is expanding to a second location at 740 Clement Avenue in Kelowna.

“We are very excited to be joining the Kelowna community,” Agur said in an email, June 11.

Agur says the new facility will be more 'taproom-focused' than in Penticton as construction of a small, 100-litre pilot brewery is currently underway “for experimenting.”

“We have made a larger taproom in Kelowna. Our oven is the size of a spaceship. Should be fun. People have been driving down from Kelowna to Penticton for years to visit us. We listened to them and are finally coming up there!” Agur says.

Penticton’s Bad Tattoo Brewing is known for its lineup of handcrafted beers, including such delights as ‘Hazed and Confused Hazy IPA,’ Patio Pink Lemonade,’ ‘Los Muertos Cerveza Negra,’ and it’s ‘West Coast IPA,’ as well as its thin crust forno oven pizza.
