Penticton RCMP seek suspect after city employee sexually assaulted

Penticton RCMP say a man in his 50s made lewd comments and grabbed a woman while she was working for the City of Penticton last week.

PENTICTON - RCMP are asking for public assistance in the investigation of a sexual assault involving a City of Penticton employee.

A City of Penticton employee completing landscape duties in the south end of town on Aug. 3 reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown man around 8 a.m., according to an RCMP media release.

The man approached the female employee, who was working alone, and began making lewd comments, police say. As the employee walked away she was grabbed from behind.

The woman was able to get away from the man without further issue, RCMP say.

Police are asking the public's assistance in locating the man described as Caucasian, in his 50s, 6' tall and bald. He was wearing a navy blue tank top, black shorts, black work boots and had a faded tattoo on his right upper arm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
