Penticton RCMP search for suspects after attempted abduction

PENTICTON - Police in Penticton are searching for two suspects after a female gas station employee reported two men tried to force her into a van this afternoon.

Penticton RCMP say in a media release at around 1.22 p.m. today, Nov. 27, a female employee at a Husky gas station at 1635 Main St., was at the rear of the building when a van reversed up to her, and two men grabbed her and tried to pull her inside by her arm.

Police say she managed to escape and ran into the store to call for help. The van was last seen heading westbound on Industrial Avenue.

The van is described as an older full-sized panel van with a stack of rolled carpets in the back, no windows with a sliding door on the passenger side.

RCMP describe the two suspects as South Asian men in their 30s. One of the men had a thick beard approximately one to two inches long.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Penticton RCMP Const. Ian Wolchok at 250-492-4300.
