Penticton RCMP report more bike thefts

More bicycles were stolen in Penticton last week, Penticton RCMP report.

PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP report two bike thefts and an attempted flight from the law, via pedal power last week in the city.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a bike was stolen from a garage on Dynes Avenue. The Norco Fluid mountain bike is grey and blue with clips on the pedals and serial number 8660404871. Reported stolen on June 7, the bike could have gone missing at anytime during the previous week.

On Saturday, June 11, a Cannondale bike was reported stolen from a residence in the 800-block of Westminster Avenue.

On June 7, a man wanted on outstanding warrants was seen on Calgary Avenue by members of the Targetted Enforcement Unit. The man tried to escape by bicycle, but encountered an unmarked police car. Trying to avoid the cruiser, he turned into a cement wall, bringing his flight from police to a sudden end.

The man was transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and appeared in court June 8.
