Penticton RCMP investigating Naramata break-ins

May 26, 2017 - 6:30 PM

PENTICTON - Police are investigating a couple of break-ins that took place near Naramata earlier this week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police were notified of a break and enter to a Robinson Point Road residence on May 19. The homeowner hadn’t been to the residence for a couple of weeks and the building was being checked by a neighbour.

It appeared the intruder had lived in the house for some time, collecting items with plans to take them, but the only thing that appeared to have gone missing was an old bicycle, Wrigglesworth says.

The homeowner fared better than a West Kelowna resident who recently had his house completely emptied by thieves earlier in May.

Police are also investigating a break-in on Mill Road in Naramata, believed to have occurred between May 20 and May 22, Wrigglesworth says. The suspect, or suspects, broke in through a kitchen window and ransacked the interior.

The only things reported missing were keys to outbuildings on the property and a few disposable kitchen utensils.
