Penticton police looking for hit and run suspect after collision with mobility scooter

PENTICTON – RCMP in Penticton are hoping someone can help with the investigation into a hit and run involving a mobilty scooter yesterday afternoon.

Police say around 4:45 p.m. July 13 a grey car hit a mobility scooter in the crosswalk on Green Avenue West near the Wal-Mart. The person on the scooter wasn't injured.

After hitting the scooter, the driver took off and was last seen turning near the 7-Eleven, possibly into a back alley, according an RCMP media release. The collision broke the scooter’s front wheel off and had to be taken away by a tow truck.

RCMP are looking for a grey car, possibly a hatchback.

Police says the crosswalk on Green Avenue West is visible and well marked.

Anyone with information should contact Cst. Brad Caruso of the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
