A Penticton nurse has been suspended for eight weeks after falsifying medical records and other allegations.

In May and June 2022, the BC College of Nurses and Midwives became aware of the “practice issues” of Sumeet Tattla.

Tattla has been reprimanded for failing to follow “post fall policy”, as well as not responding to a short-of-breath patient in a timely manner and falsifying medical records to indicate that a response to the patient had occurred when it had not.

The ramifications for the patient involved, if any, was not disclosed.

As a result, Tattla will receive an eight week practice suspension as well as direct supervision for six months and remedial education in “ethics, responsibility & accountability, documentation, and working with care aids.”

Tattla will also be prohibited from being the sole licensed practical nurse on duty and will require supervision for eight months.
