PENTICTON - It’s a new world of rights, legalities and obligations for employers dealing with the legalization of cannabis and its implications in the workplace.

To that end, the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce is hosting a discussion about cannabis in the workplace during one of its Table Talk get-togethers next month.

Chamber events coordinator Terry Phillips says the informal gathering is meant to be an interactive round table discussion where business owners will have the opportunity to hear from Penticton planning manager Blake Laven about the city’s new cannabis laws, while Love HR representative Amanda Fitzhugh will talk about cannabis workplace policies.

Employers with concerns about their rights or their workers rights, cannabis workplace policies, concerns about safety and cannabis use, recreationally or for medical reasons and other cannabis related questions will find the meeting informative, he says.

The meeting takes place at the Chamber office at 102 Ellis St. on Monday, March 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with lunch catered by Ashoka Indian Cuisine.

You can get tickets at the Chamber's website here.
