A limited edition dark lager has been released by Penticton's Cannery Brewing in support of wildland firefighters.

Cannery Brewing has partnered with the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation and has released a limited edition Wildfire Dark Lager.

"We are grateful to the wildland firefighters and emergency service workers that fight the wildfires in the Okanagan, throughout BC, and across the country each year," co-owner Ian Dyck, said in a media release. “Thank you to the brave and incredible firefighters who work so hard to keep us all safe."

Some of the proceeds from a purchase of this beer go toward the fallen firefighters foundation to honour, remember and support firefighters who have fallen on duty.

The beer is described as light, refreshing and complex, courtesy of the malted barley, with a dark colour and limited bitterness.

“On behalf of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation, it has been an honour to have partnered with Cannery Brewing for more than 11 years with their Wildfire beer. Their generous donations of a portion of the proceeds have gone towards the CFFF’s goals to Honour, Remember and Support those Canadian firefighters that have died in the line of duty and their families," retired deputy fire chief and foundation ambassadorWayne Jasper said in the release.
