A 22-year-old Surrey man was killed in a hit-and-run on Highway 97 near Oliver on Sunday.

Officers were called to Highway 97 about six kilometres south of Oliver near Cassini Cellars Winery at 4:22 p.m., June 15, according to an RCMP media release.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver failed to remain at the scene of the collision.

"BC Highway Patrol is reaching out to the individual or individuals responsible and asking them to do the right thing and contact the RCMP immediately," the release read.

Investigators are also looking for the public's help with a call for dash cam video at the time and location of the crash.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to call the BC Highway Patrol in Keremeos at 250-499-2250.
