PEACHLAND - Vehicle tampering appears to be an ongoing problem in the Peachland area.

Odina Skovgaard posted on the Peachland Neighbours Facebook group on June 23 to claim that her car's front lug nuts had been loosened the night before. She noted she had her three-year-old child in the car with her when she noticed a strange noise. Her husband checked the car and saw the loosened lug nuts before they reached a high speed.

Odina Skovgaard claimed her car's lug nuts were loosened on June 22.

Lug nut loosening is a growing issue in Peachland. Last month the RCMP stated that several cars' lug nuts had been loosened or completely stolen. In late May the police widened their search for the lug nut loosener to include West Kelowna.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
