WEST KELOWNA – Police have arrested two men in a stolen car after following up on reports of suspicious activity at a West Kelowna hotel parking lot this morning.

RCMP were called to a hotel on Dobbin Road at approximately 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 23, where two men were reportedly trying to open car door handles in the parking lot.

Police say the men were seen leaving the area in a burgundy Pontiac Sunfire and a witness got the licence plate number. Turns out the vehicle had been stolen in Vernon earlier in the week.

Officers spotted the suspect vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 97, stopped it and arrested the two men inside, according to the RCMP media release.

A 33-year-old Kelowna man and 44-year-old Vernon man remain in police custody facing charges of possession of stolen property.
