Pair of fraudsters busted in West Kelowna

KELOWNA - West Kelowna RCMP are giving a pat on the back to a retail employee who helped nab a man and a woman caught trying to use a credit card that wasn't theirs.

A little after 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, an employee at a retail outlet noticed the pair trying to use a credit card that didn't have either of their names on it, according to an RCMP media release.

The police were called and when they arrived the 30-year-old man was arrested in the store while the 23-year-old woman was picked up in the parking lot as she tried to leave.

After spending the night in jail the pair was charged with identity theft, identity fraud, impersonation and obstruction.

With both suspects from out of province the police believe there could have more victims.
