Okanagan residents can expect a bitterly cold start to the week.

OKANAGAN - It’s time to dig out the parka this week as Okanagan residents experience a true taste of winter.
Environment Canada says to expect a mix of sun and cloud today, Feb. 4, but windy conditions and low temperatures will create frostbite conditions with a predicted wind chill of -16 C this afternoon. Today’s daytime high is expected to only reach -11 C. Clearing skies this evening will bring a low of -16 C and a wind chill of -21 C overnight.
Tomorrow is expected to be a mainly sunny day but the very cold conditions will persist with a high of -10 C and a wind chill of -21 C in the morning and -13 C in the afternoon. Tomorrow night will be clear with a low of -16 C.
On Wednesday temperatures begin to moderate a little with a high of -9 C under sunny skies and an overnight low of -14 C.
Clouds are expected to move in on Thursday with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and a high of -6 C.
Snow is in the forecast overnight Thursday and Friday, with a low of - 9 C and a Friday high of -5 C.
Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of around 0 C and lows of about -6 C.
