RENO, Nev. - The Latest on another winter storm bound for the Sierra and central Nevada (all times local):

The National Weather Service has expanded a winter weather advisory to include a large swath of central and eastern Nevada along the U.S. Highway 50 corridor.
The advisory is in effect Saturday from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. in parts of Lander, Eureka and White Pine counties from west of Austin to the east through Ely all the way to the Utah line.
As much of 5 inches (12 centimetres) of snow is expected to cause travel difficulties with snow-covered roads and limited visibilities.
The storm is expected to move into the Sierra along the California-Nevada line late Friday or early Saturday, with as much as 20 inches (51 cm) of snow possible in the upper elevations around Lake Tahoe and a mix of rain and snow in the valleys around Reno and Sparks.

Another winter storm is headed for the snow-battered Sierra, where several area ski resorts set February records with more than 20 feet (6 metres) of snow in four weeks.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Friday effective from midnight through 6 p.m. Saturday for the Lake Tahoe region.
Up to a foot (30 centimetres) of snow is expected with up to 20 inches (51 cm) possible at elevations above 7,000 feet (2,133 metres).
The service says winds could gust up to 75 mph (120 kph) over the ridgetops.
The heaviest snow is expected Saturday morning. A mix of rain and snow should fall in the valleys around Reno, Sparks and Carson City.
More than 40 feet (13 metres) of snow already has fallen this winter at the top of some ski resorts around Lake Tahoe.
