The slow and steady decline in gasoline prices in the Kamloops and Okanagan regions took a significant step forward today, July 14.

After being in the $2.15 range for weeks, many North Okanagan gas stations are now selling regular gasoline for less than $2 per litre.

The further north in the Okanagan Shuswap you go, the better the prices.

Some Salmon Arm stations are showing $1.95.9 on GasBuddy.com.

In Armstrong and Enderby, prices are $1.97.9 while a few Vernon stations are showing at $1.99.9.

That’s not what’s happening in the region’s largest cities where even Costcos in Kamloops and Kelowna are still above $2.

Kelowna’s Costco is listed on GasBuddy.com at $2.01.9 while most other stations in the city are at $2.07.9.

Kamloops, which historically has been cheaper than the Okanagan, shows $2.05.9 at Costco and 2¢ a litre more at many other stations.

By comparison, gas prices in Vancouver are as low as $1.99.9 for some stations. Toronto gas is selling for $1.85.9 and Calgary prices range from $1.87.9 to $1.89.9 per litre.
