ENDERBY – RCMP are on the look out for a hit-and-run suspect after an Enderby man was hit by a commercial vehicle on the highway through the city last night.

Vernon RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Yannick Lescarbeau says in a media release a 46-year-old Enderby man was struck by a large commercial vehicle in the 1700 block of George Street (Highway 97A) at around 7:13 p.m. yesterday, June 21.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP are looking a large, white commercial truck with a red utility trailer. It was last seen travelling north on Highway 97A.

“Preliminary information gathered by our officers suggest the driver of the commercial truck may not be aware the cyclist was struck and we ask the driver contact us,” Lescarbeau says.

If you witnessed the collision or have any information that could assist the investigation you are asked to call the Enderby RCMP at 250-838-6818.
