STOCKHOLM - Bob Dylan has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
In making the announcement today in Stockholm, the Nobel committee cited the legendary American singer-songwriter "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
Dylan has recorded a vast number of albums which have had a huge impact on popular music — many of them delving into such topics as the social conditions of man, religion, politics and love.
Dylan is also an artist, actor and scriptwriter.
