No shortage of things to do in Penticton this weekend

Penticton Speedway has two nights of action filled racing this weekend.

PENTICTON - The weekend starts in Penticton tonight with the Rock the Sun event in Gyro Park.

The family-friendly show includes Joshua Smith and the Brown Blazer Band today, Aug. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Shriners Show and Shine fundraising car show will be held in Kenyon Park in Okanagan Falls on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available and there’s also a silent auction and 50/50 draw. The first 100 cars will receive dash plaques and goody bags.

On Friday and Saturday evening, take in racing at the Penticton Speedway at the Vintage Racers Weekend. Action starts at 7 p.m. and includes vintage sprint cars, Hornets, Street stocks and Hit to Pass.

The Great Trail Treasure Hunt is taking place on the Trans Canada Trail on Sunday. It's the first anniversary of unification of the 24,000-kilometre trail network. See the Great Trail Treasure Hunt website for details.

Don’t forget the Penticton Farmers' Market on Saturday, located in the 100 block of Main Street in Penticton, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Penticton Downtown Community Market is also on Saturday, on Main Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Summerland hosts its Sunday Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Main Street.
