No lack of things to do in the South Okanagan this weekend

PENTICTON - Whether your inclination is for indoor or outdoor activities, there’s lots going on in Penticton and the South Okanagan this weekend.

It’s a hat trick weekend for the Penticton Vees as they host the the Kelowna Warriors on Friday evening, Feb. 17, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Saturday, Feb. 18 and the Victoria Royals on Feb.19.

Game time is 7 p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Vees are hoping to establish an average attendance record of 3,000 spectators per game with a good turnout for this weekend’s action at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Tickets are available online, at the events centre box office and over the phone at 1-877-763-2846.

Many Hats Theatre presents “Maggie’s Getting Married” at the Cannery Theatre with performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17, 18, and 19. Showtime is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee. Tickets are $19 to $22. See the Many Hats website for more information.

Up at Apex Mountain Resort, the Ullrs Winter TRI takes place Saturday, Feb. 18, start time 8:30 a.m. The event consists of a bike, nordic ski and snowshoe run. Billed as a short, fun, exciting and achievable triathlon, the Ullrs Winter TRI takes place at Apex Mountain Resort. Cost of the event varies, depending on team size and date of registration. Apex Mountain Resort is also hosting the fourth annual Brewski, a craft beer, cider and spirits event, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Gunbarrel Saloon Restaurant. Food will be served from 7 to 9 p.m., with live entertainment following. Contact Apex Mountain Resort for more information at 250-292-8222. Cost is $40, with a shuttle operating from Penticton for $15 per round trip.

The Okanagan Symphony entertains at the Cleland Community Theatre Saturday, Feb. 18 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight with the sensual melodies and colourful instrumentation of Rodrigo’s Concierto Pastoral. Guest artists include Christie Reside on the flute and the Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra. Tickets are $26.75 to $56.25. For more information, contact the Okanagan Symphony at 250-763-7544.

Folk, bluegrass and experimental jazz-rock fusion come together with The Screen Doors, playing The Dream Cafe on Saturday, Feb. 18.  Showtime is 8 p.m and it will cost you $30. For more information, contact The Dream Cafe at 250-490-9012.

Oliver Seedy Sunday’s second annual seed and plant sale takes place Sunday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oliver Community Centre. There will be organic seed and plant vendors, honey, produce, juice, food products, a seed swap table and master gardeners onsite. Workshops and parking is free, event cost is $2. Cannery Brewing hosts Yanti Rowland on Sunday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cannery Brewery, 198 Ellis St. Bring friends and support live, local music in this free event. For more information, contact Cannery Brewing at 250-493-2723.
