OLIVER - A stolen firearm and vehicles from Penticton and Osoyoos were found by a team out of two RCMP detachments.

A trailer stolen from a Penticton residence Jan. 16 was located Feb. 3 by Oliver and Osoyoos RCMP in the 4000 block of Highway 97. Members also recovered a firearm, ammunition, a battery charger and other items reported stolen following a break-in in Osoyoos in late January. No charges will be pursued as a result of this investigation.

On Feb. 5 the Oliver RCMP followed up on a tip and found a white 2009 Hummer in a parking lot off of Spillway Road, behind Centennial Park. The large machine was stolen from a residence on the 1000 block of McKinney Road earlier that day.

Cops noted the vehicle's battery was dead and the side air bags had been deployed. RCMP Sgt. Ken Harrington said they'd likely gone off when the vehicle was driven off the road by thieves.

And last Friday an Oliver resident spotted a bicycle on her driveway at her home in the 6000 block of Meadows Drive. The bike is a burgundy Mongoose 21-speed cycle. The bike's owner can arrange to recover the cycle by calling the Oliver RCMP detachment and quoting file number 2104 2014-493 and providing further descriptive detail.
