TORONTO - Ed Sheeran, Nikki Yanofsky and Hedley were among the guests to receive a delirious reception on the Much Music Video Awards red carpet.
Sheeran — scheduled to perform later — showed up in a massive blue food truck and brought cones of french fries out for fans.
The flame-haired Brit then signed the arms of a queue of delirious fans.
Virginia to Vegas and Alyssa Reid strolled onto the carpet on a cream-coloured scooter while Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri arrived simultaneously in sleek sports cars.
On the other hand, B.C. hitmakers Hedley put aside their usual attention-grabbing MMVAs entrances and simply showed up in a black SUV.
Hosts Kylie and Kendall Jenner also arrived free of splashy stunts, simply walking onto the carpet before being greeted by a Much host who asked if the Kardashian-associated sisters had received any advice from their famous family.
"Kim was on the show years ago and just said it's literally the most fun thing ever," Kendall said.
Other performers expected later included Ariana Grande, Lorde and Imagine Dragons.
