VANCOUVER - Police believe a 32-year-old Surrey, B.C., man is responsible for three separate murders in Metro Vancouver last year.
Sarbjit Bains is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the August 2013 deaths of escorts Jill Lyons and Karen Nabors.
He is also charged with second-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Amritpal Saran whose body was found on Colebrook Road in a rural part of Surrey in February 2013.
The bodies of 45-year-old Lyons and 48-year-old Nabors, 48, were found about two weeks apart in the same apartment complex in New Westminster, B.C.
At the time of their deaths, police issued a public warning to sex-trade workers, reminding anybody engaged in a high-risk lifestyle to remain vigilant.
Police say another Surrey resident, 36-year-old Evelina Urbaniak, faces charges of accessory after the fact and indignity to human remains in connection to the case.
