VERNON - A brawl outside The Roxx Show Lounge evolved into something out of the WWF Wednesday night.

Just before midnight, the person on security duty at the door was attempting to break up a fight between two patrons when one of them allegedly decided to pick up a nearby stool hitting the doorman on the head.

Two officers from the Vernon detachment were already at the bar, located at 3307 32 Avenue, investigating a different matter and were able to bring the disturbance under control. Two people were taken into custody.

After talking to other patrons and bar staff, police decided to hold a 24-year-old for intoxication who was later released without charges.

The 34-year-old who allegedly swung the stool was released this morning on a promise to appear in court May 15. He faces potential assault charges.

The bar employee was injured during the altercation and required stitches at the hospital.
