Modo inviting car buyers to 'meet' an electric vehicle in Kelowna
Modo is inviting people to an event in Kelowna this weekend where they can learn more about electric vehicles.
The carshare company along with Current Taxi, Kelowna Chevrolet and others are holding a One Step Closer to Zero Emissions event.
“You can meet an EV,” Jane Hope with Modo told iNFOnews.ca.
“We’ll have a number of EVs on site for people to look at and talk about the various options and to ask any question about how these things work, how they can work into your lifestyle and bridge that gap between what you’re, maybe, reading in the papers or hearing from other people. Talk to people who use EVs all the time and figure out what might be the best one for you.”

Along with Chevrolet, they'll have vehicles from Hyundai and Tesla. Current Taxi uses Tesla vehicles exclusively.
An electric Ford pickup truck and Jeep Wrangler may also be part of the event. E-Kruise, an Okanagan-based electric bicycle rental company, will be there as well.
“We’re partnering with EmotiveBC, the non-profit in charge of encouraging the EV transition, and we’ll have lots of information about incentives and other things people can access to help them make that transition to electric vehicles.”
Thirty-five per cent of Modo's vehicles are low emission and the company plans to have zero emissions out of its fleet's tailpipes by 2030.
The One Step Closer to Zero Emission event will be held in the Kelowna city hall parking long from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.
