ADEN, Yemen - Military and hospital officials in Yemen say a large explosion at the Defence Ministry complex in the centre of the capital, Sanaa, has wounded 20 people, many of them seriously.
They said the blast Thursday morning also blew out windows and the doors of homes and offices in the immediate vicinity of the complex.
The officials said it was not immediately clear what caused the explosion, which sent a cloud of black smoke over the area.
They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to journalists.
