BEIRUT - Activists say a new round of Syrian government airstrikes on the northern city of Aleppo has killed at least 15 people, including three children.

Tuesday's air raids extend the intensified bombing campaign by President Bashar Assad's air force on the embattled city into its tenth day. Activists say more than 360 people have been killed since the aerial assault began on Dec. 15.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says Tuesday's airstrikes hit the rebel-held Sukkari neighbourhood, killing at least 15 there.

Another activist group, the Aleppo Media Center, put the death toll at 33. It said 150 people were wounded.

Disparate death tolls are common in the chaotic aftermath of such attacks.
