Israeli tank fires at Hamas post in response to rocket fire

JERUSALEM - The Israeli military says one of its tanks has fired at a Hamas military post in the southern Gaza Strip in response to a rocket attack.

The army said it identified where the attack was coming from late Wednesday. Shortly after, it responded with tank fire.

There were no reports of damage or injuries on either side.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the rocket launch. Israel says it holds Gaza's Hamas rulers for all fire emanating from the territory.
