People in both vehicles escaped with minor injuries after a semi-truck collided with an SUV in a highway snowshed near Revelstoke.

BC RCMP said the Aug. 26 collision was likely caused by the tractor-trailer first hitting a concrete wall in the McDonald snowshed on the Trans-Canada Highway. It was pushed into the oncoming lane where it collided with an oncoming SUV.

First responders were called to the scene around 11 a.m. and found people from both vehicles had just minor injuries, according to a BC RCMP news release.

The collision forced a seven-hour closure as the debris was cleaned and police investigated the scene, concluding alcohol or drugs were not believed to be a factor.

The highway was reopened around 6:30 p.m., Aug. 26, according to DriveBC.
