The driver of a minivan was pronounced dead at the scene after a crash with a logging truck near Sicamous on Sunday.

The northbound logging truck crossed the centre line into oncoming traffic and a Dodge Grand Caravan on Highway 97A south of Sicamous near Mara Lake, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Dec. 6. The crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3.

The driver of the minivan was killed and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the logging truck was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.

Road conditions were reportedly very poor at the time of the incident and all avenues of investigation are being considered at this early stage, RCMP said.

No details regarding the occupants of the vehicles are being released by police at this time.

RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or who may have dashcam video, to contact the BC Highway Patrol in Golden at 250-344-2221 and refer to file number 2023-4865.
