Members sought for advisory committee on health care

West Kelowna Council is seeking members of the community to sit on a new committee being created to help provide the best possible quality of health care for residents.

The Advisory Committee on Health Care will act to promote open communication and active working partnerships between the District of West Kelowna, Interior Health and residents.

The development of a health care committee is one of the recommendations in the Assessment of Medical Services in West Kelowna: Final Report, prepared last year. The Committee will provide advice and recommendations to the District of West Kelowna.

West Kelowna Council is seeking five regular voting members from the West Kelowna community at large, with representation sought for women, youth, seniors and the medical community. Two non-voting members of the committee will be a representative of Interior Health and a District staff member.

Interested parties can find a committee application form, Committee Terms of Reference, and the Assessment of Medical Services in West Kelowna: Final Report on the District’s website, www.districtofwestkelowna.ca, under Mayor and Council/Council Committees. Application forms are also available at West Kelowna Municipal Hall, 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna.

The deadline to submit applications to the Committee is 4:30 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014. Completed applications can be emailed to info@districtofwestkelowna.ca or delivered to West Kelowna Municipal Hall.
