Meet and greet planned for Kelowna council candidates in Mission

KELOWNA - Two-thirds of those running for Kelowna city councillor positions have agreed to attend an “informal” public meeting tomorrow evening.

Sponsored by the Okanagan Mission Residents Association, the 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. session is open to all Kelowna residents.

Fourteen of the 21 candidates had confirmed attendance by this morning, Oct. 15.

This is a rare chance to focus on candidates for councillor positions as most forums have been restricted to just the candidates for mayor, including one at UBC Okanagan from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today and at Third Space Coffee on Dolphin Avenue tomorrow at 7 p.m.

An all candidates forum with a question and answer format is scheduled for Rutland Centennial Hall Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Tomorrow’s councillor meet and greet is at Okanagan Mission Community Hall (the Red Barn at DeHart and Lakeshore). Parking is limited so car-pooling is suggested.
