McDonald's Canada is bringing back its beloved McRib ending a ten-year hiatus for the menu item.

On Jan. 30, the McRib will be available in all participating McDonald's restaurants across Canada for a limited time, according to a news release.

The last time this iconic sandwich was made available on Canadian menus was in 2014.

"In the last year alone, our team received thousands of inquiries on social media from very passionate Canadian McRib fans asking to bring it back here," Alyssa Buetikofer with McDonald's Canada said in the release.

"The McRib is truly a fan favourite. It appeals to guests of all ages — from loyal followers who have patiently waited a decade for its return, to our newer fans who have only heard the legend."

There was even an online petition which over 4,000 people signed demanding the return of the sandwich.

The McRib is made up of a boneless pork patty covered in BBQ sauce accompanied by pickles and onions and served on a bun. Some say it's the perfect mix between sweet, tangy and savoury flavours.

It will only be available for a limited time.
