Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. (TSX:KLG). Miner. Down 84 cents, or 7.55 per cent, to $10.28 on 922,312 shares. Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. and Vancouver-based Newmarket Gold Inc. (TSX:NMI) (up four cents, or 0.83 per cent, to $4.87 on 3.5-million shares) announced a merger deal Thursday to create a new mid-tier producer. The proposed agreement would result in a company with a market capitalization of $2.4 billion that can produce about 500,000 ounces of gold annually.
