Man who died when struck by train identified

A pedestrian was walking on the rail lines when he was struck by a train and killed instantly east of the Overlanders Bridge in Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS - A man who was struck by a train in Kamloops January 29 and died of his injuries has been identified.

He was Yvon George Joseph Gagne, 40, of no fixed address.

Gagne was hit by an eastbound freight train on the CP Rail main line tracks under the Overlander Bridge while walking east on the tracks. The incident happened about 8:20 p.m. He was dead at the scene.

Gagne's family have been notified.
