A man is expected to recover after he was found with stab wounds in a North Kamloops parking lot last night.

His injuries were serious but non-life-threatening, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

Police responded to the stabbing last night, Sept. 26, in the 700 block of Sydney Avenue at around 10:15 p.m.

The suspected assailant fled the scene on a mountain bike. He is described as having dark hair and was wearing a white hat, blue jeans and a dark jacket or hoodie.

“Although it’s still early in the investigation, police believe the incident is not random, nor related to the serious stabbing on Tranquille last Monday,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “In follow up to last week’s stabbing, a suspect was identified and arrested, and charge recommendation is anticipated.”

Anyone with video surveillance, dash cam footage, or information related to this incident that could help progress the investigation, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-34505.
