Kamloops RCMP are looking for witnesses after a man was found seriously injured in a downtown alley early this morning.

Police responded to a call around 5:30 a.m. today, May 18, when a man was found on the 200-block between Seymour and Victoria Streets, according to an RCMP news release.

It's not known how long the man was in the alley, but he was taken to hospital with serious injuries when first responders arrived, RCMP said.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious or heard anything they think may be related to the incident to contact them. Investigators are also looking for surveillance footage from the alley where the victim was found or the entry to the alley at 2 Avenue or 3 Avenue.

If you have information related to this investigation, call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-16194.
